sucks – if I was arguing with someone for so long and they died without reconciliation, I’d be depressed too. makes you appreciate how short life is – too short to spend them in a funk.
Note: She is NOT a transwoman. She is a woman who was forced to pass herself off as a man for much of her life. She didn’t decide to transition. She decided to stop hiding her gender.
We know nothing about her sexuality, but as far as gender goes… she’s a woman who wanted to be recognized for her achievements as a woman.
Hmmm its just a hunch but I have a feeling everyone should think a moment about what the likely long term effect on her career of Delgano’s long term protege , the person who he no doubt spent long conversations alone with, the person whose career he no doubt shepherded and advanced, who he praised and lauded….turning out to suddenly be a woman on the day of her most important promotion. And what the likely results would have been of his continuing mentorship. Also ask yourself how King Urtica would have gotten involved.
He may have had good reason for nuking the friendship from orbit.
Nothing about the captain’s choice of language or description of her mentor’s response says “cisgender woman pretending to be man for decades starting from early childhood”.
Everything about it says, “closeted transgender woman comes out”. The admiral called her a “monster and a betrayer of humanity”. That’s literally $#!+ transphobes say.
It’s also s!!t that sexists and misogynists say. Check out what literary critics wrote about M Shelly’s “Frankenstein.” It released to mixed reviews – every positive review came from critics who only knew the author as “M Shelly,” whereas every critic who knew that “M” stood for “Mary” were universally in agreement that it was bad and stupid because it was written by a woman, and women are stupid and cannot write.
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Take it from an old sailor: it’s “captaincy” not “captainhood.”

So she is a transwoman.

Thank you
So you are agreeing… she’s a transwoman.
The latest strip confirmed she is in fact a transwoman.
Happier outcome? https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeremyalicandri/2020/11/18/ibm-apologizes-for-firing-computer-pioneer/
Shouldn’t “That’d he be” be “That he’d be”?

Or look at the history of the Woman’s Suffrage Movement. Or the way women get demonized in religiously conservative societies (I’m Jewish, and… I was very ashamed of the way the Ultraorthodox in Israel have been treating non-orthodox women. Here’s an example: https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/.premium-ultra-orthodox-jewish-feminist-international-women-s-day-western-wall-wailing-wall-jerusalem-1.7001785
So… yeah – everything about the situation screams “woman wanting to be recognized for her accomplishments as a woman who accomplished things.”
…like a transwoman would.
