Ho hum – it looks as though Dan’s going to get into trouble again (along with the Bard) – especially if they all head to the ship, where they’ll face any sober guards, Roh, Typh and maybe even Mags (plus the possibility of Peonie attempting to wield a sword too large for her – again!)
Perhaps Dan could be treated to an unintentional swimming lesson? 😀
What shall we do with the drunken sail-, err… soldier?
I’ve always (since having heard and sung both of the below) thought that the lyrics of Drunken Sailor and Dord Féine (Oró se do beatha bhaile) could do well in each others’ tunes., and I frequently play them in my head that way.
See , especially the second “See Also” link.

’Sé do bheatha, a bhean ba léanmhar
do bé ár gcreach tú bheith i ngéibhinn
do dhúiche bhreá i seilbh meirleach
‘s tú díolta leis na Gallaibh.
Chorus:
Óró, sé do bheatha bhaile
óró, sé do bheatha bhaile
óró, sé do bheatha bhaile
anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh.
Tá Gráinne Mhaol ag teacht thar sáile
óglaigh armtha léi mar gharda,
Gaeil iad féin is ní Francaigh ná Spáinnigh
‘s cuirfidh siad ruaig ar Ghallaibh.
Chorus
A bhuí le Rí na bhFeart go bhfeiceam
muna mbeam beo ina dhiaidh ach seachtain
Gráinne Mhaol agus míle gaiscíoch
ag fógairt fáin ar Ghallaibh.
Chorus

Gah! there’s an article at Wikipedia, the link to which didn’t make it into the comment, with the term “Óró_sé_do_bheatha_abhaile” which gives the Irish lyric.
Oh, so the bard is one of those types: can’t handle rejection (doubt P-cups is the first to reject him) so stalks them and rapes them, what he does with them afterwards depends on how they feel after being ‘blessed’ by his attentions
In his dreams!
Nah, he seems to be the type to go for the ‘delicate’ type, the type who either will fall on his meat-flute straight away, or will be too weak to resist if they turn him down
