She wouldn’t be the first. Look up the pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read. The latter even spent time in the British military as a man, before quitting and marrying a Flemish soldier prior to her pirate career.
Other women secretly serving in the military include Deborah Sampson during the American Revolution, and Mary Owens and Sarah Collins in the US Civil War.
