    Honor thy father, huh?

Sure, Peonie. YOU can keep Tiff in line. Suuureee you can.

After all, she just went clothes shopping. She’s a girl; I’m sure that will put her in a great mode.

“Mood” not “mode”. Edna, gosh darn it, keep your fingers off my keyboard!

@50srefuge: She’s not wrong though, keeping Typhan-Knee in the dark would surely backfire.

I swear, Peonie seems to be on a roll lately or she has become self aware.

I like that Urtica ia respecting Typhan-Knee’s wishes and pronouncing her name in the way she insisted.

P-cups is not dumb she just doesn’t steer clear of trouble. This gets her in over her head or captured. With her new fighting skills i am interested to see how things work out in the future. Will her fighting confidence lead to more troubles or will she crush her enemies like her father.

@Fairportian: Princess P-cups is honoring her father by telling him the truth.

    @Jake: She’s maturing.

This is probably one of my favorite fictional rulers ever now. Not quite as epic as the Patrician, but certainly close.

Typh is also not stupid, Peonie. Better tell her straight up. It would go smoother that way.

    @Uhl

    That is what she says.

What I like is Peopnie’s *promise* that she can keep Tyff in line.

    That’s a tall order…

    Wait, Terry stopped humming!!!!!

Uhl: that is how she is planning on keeping Tiff in line, by telling her the truth about what is going on

Keeping Typhan-Knee in line? Better grab a sword and take the entire Church head on… much easier and less bloody

not just the “stop humming”, how do you tell Typh the secret without the secret getting out by enemy magic spying method? It is like they want enemy to know.

stop humming, could see from them being in the special room with no sign of enemy spells so think it is safe…

@David Same way they told Peonie and it’s safer to tell Typhan-Knee than leave her in the dark.

Why do I get the impression that TIff getting out of control is part of Urtica’s plan?

Bah, probably just hallucinating again. Sure, these weird looking spiders are tasty, but….

David: Terry had been humming right up until this page

@50srefuge If it was, he wouldn’t be agreeing that keeping her in the dark would be a dumb idea.

Sorry all, no clues to be found in the absent humming. I simply got interrupted and forgot to put them in before exporting. I’ve uploaded a new version.

Nice try, Scott, you trickster–but we’re on to your tricksy attempts to trick us! HAH!

    Ahem. Speaking of tricks:

@Jake: Something about his phrasing. It seems rather clumsy and forced. He might as well be winking at Theresa and giving her a thumbs up when Peonie isn’t watching.

  23. Jake
    April 8, 2015, 6:24 pm | # | Reply

@50sRefuge: Seems unlikely, since Peonie will now tell Typhan about it.

So clearly it was not a part of Urtica’s plan, especially since they were waiting to ask Peonie. There’s no hiding meaning.

And keeping Typhan-Knee would indeed be a dumb move. So no, Typh going crazy would not be part of the plan, that would not make sense.

  24. Jake
    April 8, 2015, 6:27 pm | # | Reply

@50sRefuge And more importantly, if it had been part of the plan, he wouldn’t have bothered waiting to ask Peonie about it or he would have told Peonie not to tell Typh, neither happened.

Actually, this is reminding me of Baron Wulfenbach again. Urtica just tested his daughter – and she passed. Not telling Typh-ah-nee would have would have been a classic example of carrying the idiot ball – and also pretty much standard procedure for a lot of other stories. Urtica is the king because he refuses to touch any idiot balls; Peonie just established that she’s equally uninterested in holding them.

Beyond that, Typh IS going to be easily handled. All Peonie has to do is take her aside and tell her, “My father and new stepmom are taking down some corrupt church leaders. Here are your marching orders so you keep me safe, don’t screw up their plan, and help take down the bad guys.” Typh is not going to refuse to follow the instructions given to her by her high-paying employers when the job is “keep my friends out of harm’s way while they take down some people I don’t know and wouldn’t like if I did.”

Archone: depends on just how much of the ‘taking-down-the-church’ action Tiff wants to be in on

@Guesticus Typhan is a true warrior – and thus, she knows how to follow orders. Like Sergeant Schlock (from the comic Schlock Mercenary) pointed out, “if I don’t follow the orders I don’t like, I won’t get an opportunity to follow the orders I DO like.”
