So they do have Isabel’s escape covered, i shouldn’t be surprised i guess.

Though i can’t escape the feeling that things will go wrong. Plans tend not go as planned when said out loud.

My guess, they decide not to tell Typhan-Knee and that will cause everything to go off the rails.

“Sorry Liv, but it’s “Family only” time, the offer is still standing, but until then, please go check on Tiff?”

Unless, their plan relies on Tiff not being told, so that when she finds out she does her usual Tiff-ness 😀

I thought he meant he was going to discuss that with Olivia.

@Guesticus: Except the King was going to ask Peonie if Typhan-Knee should be told, remember? So it seems that if Typhan-Knee is left out, it’s not because it’s part of the original plan.

I think Peonie will make the mistake of deciding they shouldn’t tell Typhan-Knee, which will cause the plan to go off the rails.

Any takers on Olivia being responsible for the rogue spell song?

Or maybe the rogue song is not detectable in this room because it’s where the singer wants them to be and it’s the only room which is monitored.

This is Urtica were talking about, if Olivia’s the plant, He knows it and is depending on Tiff to “Go Off the Rails”

That is so dumb, they did not bug her room, cause she was away…, that the best time to bug it. You never know when she would return., but what ever, lol.

@Doug: Except if it’s was part of the plan, Urtica would have no reason to ask Peonie if they should tell Typhan-Knee. So clearly, Typhan-Knee is not part of their plan, at least not at the moment.

I suspect that Tiff is the plan to keep Corriander distracted. I mean, look at what Teresa said about him, that he’s a horrible misogynist. Put our dear, sweet Tiffany within speaking range of him and you are sure to get a really violent distraction!

@Brandi: Except again, Urtica was going to ask Peonie if Typhan-Knee can be trusted with this. Which means that Typhan-Knee can’t be part of the plan, at least not yet.

@Jake: Typhan-Knee can’t be informed, yet, but that doesn’t mean very reliable reactions can’t be banked on. If someone’s behavior is very predictable when exposed to certain variables, a plan can be pretty easily worked around those behaviors. In this case, that would be Tiff’s typical reaction to misogynists. Even if the ruckus didn’t last very long, it’d probably be loud and long enough to make Isabel’s escape possible.

@Gin: You mean hasn’t, because previous strips have shown that Urtica hasn’t decided and is waiting for Peonie’s opinion on the matter, so clearly it can’t be part of the plan yet. It might be worked into the plan after he asks Peonie, But not At this moment.

Asking her if they can trust Typhan-Knee with this is part of the reason they wanted to talk to Peonie, on top of informing her about the plan.

And again, saying the plan out loud usually means it will fail. This is why genre savy villains like Xanatos would only explain their plans after it had succeeded.

And let’s remember that not all of Urtica’s plans are home runs anyway. That scheme he had about manipulating Typhan-Knee into marrying him didn’t pan out.

This is the strip in question, Urtica wanted to ask if Typhan-Knee could be trusted with something.

Good catch, Jake. I think it’s a little risky to base your plan on Tiffany not trying to kill someone trying to rape her, or even just hit on her, given cause of the sword through the door, but we’ll see.

(My guess is that Tiff will named as the escort for Isabelle, or some other martial role.)

I’m also wondering if Typhan-Knee might run into Coriander while shopping. That might complicate things.

It’s possible Kingie is just wanting to know if they should inform Tiff about the full plan: not everyone involved in a plan need to know that they are part of a plan, do you think pawns are informed ahead of time that they are simply chess pieces?

Jake: complicate, or resolve the matter?

  20. Jake
    March 19, 2015, 3:30 am | # | Reply

@Guesticus: If that was the case, i don’t see why Urtica would asking Peonie about it.

Because, shocking as it seems, Kingie actually respects his daughter and, in some cases, trusts her instincts: if she feels Tiff should know, he will let her know, if she feels it’s best that Tiff doesn’t know, then he won’t

I just discovered this comic, just finished with the archive crawl, and have to say I’m very impressed and looking forward to seeing how this plays out!

I really want to see Peonie solve this one herself, obviously with help from Typhan-Knee, but this kind of maneuver seems far more in line with Peonie’s strengths.
